Unc is Stumbling Block: Nk Media

North Korea denounced the US-led United Nations Command (UNC) in South Korea as an impediment to inter-Korean reconciliation, through media reports Monday.

'The UNC is a stumbling block to alleviating the situation on the Korean Peninsula and improving North-South relations for the reconciliation and cooperation between the North and South,' the North's Propaganda outlet DPRK Today said in an article.

'The US must stop interfering in internal issues of our people using the name of the UN,' it added.

The Rodong Sinmun, the mouthpiece of the North's ruling Workers' Party, stated that there have been voices in the South calling for the disbandment of the UNC.

Meanwhile, in a separate article, DPRK Today condemned the US maximum pressure campaign on the regime.

'The US military is showing signs of supporting US President Donald Trump's North Korea policy which is to drive us to denuclearization through maximum pressure and intervention, at a time negotiations between North Korea and the US are stalled,' it stated.
