Santa Clause Back With Gifts for Children

A white-bearded old man from Finland is visiting Korea loaded with Christmas gifts for children.

According to the Finnish Embassy in Seoul, Santa Claus, dressed in traditional red, arrived on Dec. 11 to visit major cities including Seoul, Inchoen, Busan, Jeonju and Daejoen, until Dec. 22.

Santa has visited Korea every Christmas season since 2008.

Santa's visit is one of five key elements of Finnish Christmas tradition along with Christmas trees, traditional food, gifts and having a sauna, according to the embassy.

Family members gather on Christmas Eve to decorate a Christmas tree, prepare food, and eat together in the evening.
