Park Seung-hi Bids Farewell to Olympic Stage

Korea's speed skater Park Seung-hi has bid farewell to the Olympics, expressing gratitude to fans who supported her brave change from short track skating to long track.

Park on Thursday wrote on Instagram: "My last Olympics has ended. I have been criticized for my performance after the switch that it is not as good as it was on the short track and I also regret my decision many times.

If I were competing in short track, perhaps I could notch up better performances, but I decided to choose a different path and many fans have rooted for the somewhat reckless choice.

Park switched after winning two gold medals at the 2014 Sochi Olympics. As a short track speed skater, Park won two gold medals and three bronzes at the past two Winter Games.

But several months after the Sochi Games, she called an end to her short track career, saying she wanted a new challenge in her life.
