Beautiful Thursday Concert Series: Lux Trio

The Kumho Art Hall will be featuring a performer every Thursday to spread classical music culture in Korea One of the upcoming performers is classical ensemble Lux Trio featuring pianist An Eun-yoo, violinist Lee Jae-hyeong and cellist Chae Hoon-sun. The trio was founded in Berlin in 2014.

All three musicians studied together from a young age throughout middle and high school. They have won various international competitions including ones in Germany and Italy.

At the performance, they will be playing works by Haydn, Martinu, and Smetana

Korean Symphony Orchestra

Founded in 1985, the Korean Symphony Orchestra is one of the nation's most famous orchestras and puts on over 90 performances each year The ensemble has an official exclusive contract with the National Theater of Korea and often performs with the Korean National Opera and the Korean National Ballet. In 2018, Chung Chi-yong became the orchestra's sixth artistic director and will be conducting the ensemble at the upcoming performance.

Chung graduated from the School of Music at Seoul National University and then continued his studies in Austria Pianist Cho Jae-hyuk will be the featured soloist at this concert. Cho made his debut in New York's Carnegie Hall and has performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls.

He studied music at The Julliard School and has recorded several albums. At the concert, they will play 'Arirang' as well as works of Liszt and Dvorak.

Lee Gik-wang is a Korean musician who is part of the group Highlight (previously known as BEAST). The group released five studio albums in total and received worldwide popularity for their trendy music, excellent vocals and impressive choreography.

After switching labels in 2017, the group changed its name to Highlight. Lee Gik-wang's solo career began in 2017 with his mini album 'One.

' He took a large part in producing the album and has also been recognized for his songwriting skills. He has released two mini-albums and has also collaborated with artists such as Brave Brothers and Fantastic Duo.
